Welcome to our website! Our Saviour is a member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.

 

What does this mean? It means several things.

 

We are a Church that confesses Jesus Christ as the world's only Saviour from sin, death, and the devil. We know this from the Word of God (the Bible) which is pure and holy. The true teachings of Scripture are thus confessed and explained in our Lutheran Confessions.

 

We are gathered for worship by our Lord so that we may receive His good gifts of the forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and salvation. So that these are given in an orderly and reverent manner, we use the ancient Liturgy of the holy Christian church. We are not trend-setters nor are we in the entertainment business.

 

Here, you will meet our Lord Jesus as He gives us His Word and His blessed Sacraments. Here, in the House of God, you will find the rest for your soul that you need. So we say, "Come, and see Jesus."

 

Pastor Schneider was ordained into the Holy Ministry in 1990.  He has served the Lord as a pastor to Immanuel Lutheran Church (1990-94), Rosebud, MO, and Salem/Zion Lutheran Churches(1994-2002), Farrar/Crosstown, MO (Missouri District) and presently Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Evansville, IN (Indiana District).  Pastor and his wife Barb have three children and two grandchildren, all living in the Evansville area.
