The Communion Practice of the Orthodox Lutheran Church -- In accordance with God’s Word and our Lutheran Confessions, Our Saviour offers Holy Communion every Sunday, so that those who have examined themselves and know their sin may receive Christ’s forgiveness. The holy Scriptures teach that the body and blood of Jesus are truly present under the bread and wine in the Lord’s Supper. The Scriptures also teach that all who receive the Sacrament receive the body and blood of Christ on their tongue and also that those communing together make a common confession of this truth. Out of Christian love for those who do not confess this truth, Our Saviour practices closed Communion.

Visitors who are in good standing of sister Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod churches are welcome to commune. Please speak with our Pastor before the Divine Service if you desire to receive the Sacrament. Guests of other denominations or fellowships are requested to honor our practice and refrain from partaking of the Lord’s Supper.
